Field capture

Field capture means recording in the place the work happens: a kitchen, a workshop, a vehicle, a shop floor, a mill. The point is the mess and the motion models still get wrong. A clean studio reenactment is a different product and is only in spec when a programme asks for it.

Egocentric framing

Harbor’s default camera is first-person. Chest-mount or hold the phone so the shot is your hands, tools, and the work. About 90% of the clip should be that view. Talking-head, selfie, drone, and wide third-person room shots fail Collect review. Other people’s faces fail review. Children’s faces are never allowed.

Duration and continuity

Collect missions: one continuous clip, minimum 5 minutes, maximum 30 minutes. Jump cuts that skip the work fail. Clips under 5 minutes fail. Clips over 30 minutes fail. Managed programmes may set different durations; the invitation wins.

Devices

Phone camera is the Collect default. Wearables, spatial audio, depth, and IMU appear when a programme lists them. Do not invent kit. If the mission says “whatever you already use to brew,” that is the kit.

Metadata

Harbor tooling attaches identity, time, mission, and consent. Do not strip filenames after a successful upload. Do not train personal models on the capture. Delete local copies when the programme says to.
